An invertible <morphism> $y:X\otimes X\to X\otimes X$ satisfying $(y\otimes1)(1\otimes y)(y\otimes1)=(1\otimes y)(y\otimes1)(1\otimes y)$ with coherent parentheses. It produces representations of the <braid groups>; a self-<braiding> is an example.
