Frank Black, also known by his stage name Black Francis, is the lead vocalist and guitarist of the American alternative rock band Pixies. He was born Charles Thompson IV on April 6, 1965, in Massachusetts. The Pixies, formed in 1986, are known for their influential sound that blends elements of punk rock, surf rock, and noise pop, which has significantly impacted the music scene.
