Leonid Shkadov, often referred to in relation to the "Shkadov Thruster," is a theoretical concept in astrophysics and engineering for an enormous spacecraft propulsion system. The Shkadov Thruster would be based on a large reflective surface (similar to a solar sail) positioned near a star, which would redirect stellar radiation pressure. This concept envisions using the energy output of a star to generate thrust and potentially move celestial bodies or spacecraft.
