North Holland, or Noord-Holland in Dutch, is a province in the northwest part of the Netherlands. It is bordered by the North Sea to the west, the province of Friesland to the north, and the province of South Holland (Zuid-Holland) to the south, with parts of the Ijsselmeer (a large lake) to the east. The capital of North Holland is Haarlem, which is known for its historical architecture, museums, and cultural attractions.
