The Office for National Statistics (ONS) is the UK’s largest independent producer of official statistics and is primarily responsible for the collection, analysis, and dissemination of statistical information about the economy, population, and society in the United Kingdom. Established in 1996, the ONS is part of the Government Statistical Service and operates under the jurisdiction of the UK’s Economic and Social Research Council.
