Walter Orr Roberts (1915–1990) was an American meteorologist and a significant figure in the field of atmospheric sciences. He is best known for his work in weather forecasting, as well as for his role in the establishment of the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) in Boulder, Colorado. Roberts was instrumental in advocating for the use of computers in meteorology, which revolutionized weather modeling and forecasting.
