Paul Wild was a Swiss astronomer known for his work in various fields of astronomy, particularly in solar research and the study of cosmic dust. One of his notable contributions is the discovery of the so-called "Wild 2" comet, officially designated as 81P/Wild, which is a short-period comet. In addition to his work on comets, Wild was involved in exploring solar phenomena, including solar flares and solar wind.
