James Joseph Brady was an American political figure who served as the White House Press Secretary under President Ronald Reagan. He is best known for being seriously injured in an assassination attempt on President Reagan on March 30, 1981, when John Hinckley Jr. opened fire in Washington, D.C. Brady sustained a gunshot wound to the head that left him with long-term disabilities.
