Robert L. Forward was an American physicist and science fiction author, best known for his contributions to gravitational physics and astrophysics, as well as for his imaginative works in the genre of science fiction. He was born on August 15, 1920, and passed away on September 22, 2002. Forward received a Ph.D. in physics and worked at various institutions, including NASA and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
