Alex James is a mathematician known for his contributions to various areas of mathematics, particularly in combinatorics and number theory. He is recognized for his work in the study of mathematical patterns, structures, and theories, often employing innovative techniques to explore complex mathematical problems.
As of my last knowledge update in October 2021, Adélia Sequeira is not widely recognized in mainstream global information sources. However, if you are referring to a specific person, artist, or character who has emerged after this date, I wouldn't have information on them.
Adele Merritt does not appear to be a widely recognized public figure or concept up to my last knowledge update in October 2023. It's possible that the name refers to a specific individual, fictional character, or a niche topic that might not be commonly known.
Fluid dynamicists are specialized scientists or engineers who study the behavior of fluids (liquids and gases) and the forces acting on them. Their work often involves analyzing and modeling fluid flow, understanding how fluids interact with solid boundaries, and investigating phenomena such as turbulence, vortices, and waves.
The **Fellows of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM)** is an honor bestowed upon individuals in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the fields of industrial and applied mathematics. Established in 2009, the Fellows program aims to acknowledge members of the SIAM community who have demonstrated excellence in their professional work and who have made significant contributions through their research, teaching, and service to the society and the broader mathematical community.
Applied mathematicians come from a wide variety of national backgrounds, as the field of applied mathematics is a global discipline. Some countries known for having significant contributions to applied mathematics include: 1. **United States**: Home to many prominent universities and research institutions that focus on applied mathematics and contribute to various fields like finance, engineering, and data science.
Molecular biology is a branch of science that focuses on the study of biological processes at the molecular level. It encompasses the understanding of various biological phenomena through the examination of biomolecules, including DNA, RNA, and proteins, and how they interact to govern the structure, function, and regulation of living organisms.
Geometric modeling is a mathematical and computational technique used to represent and manipulate the shapes and forms of objects in a digital environment. It involves the use of geometric entities such as points, lines, curves, surfaces, and solids to create descriptions of physical objects or structures in various fields, including computer graphics, computer-aided design (CAD), and computational geometry.
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) is a system for defining engineering tolerances that specifies the allowable variation in a part's geometry. It provides a clear and concise way to communicate how much a feature's size, form, orientation, or location can vary from its ideal specification. GD&T is widely used in manufacturing, engineering, and design processes to ensure parts fit together properly and function as intended.
Geometric design refers to the practice of creating visual compositions using geometric shapes and forms. This concept is widely applied in various fields, including art, architecture, engineering, graphic design, and urban planning. Here are some key aspects of geometric design: 1. **Shapes**: Geometric design utilizes basic shapes such as circles, squares, triangles, and polygons. These shapes can be combined, overlapped, or manipulated to create complex patterns and structures.
Geometric data analysis is an approach that uses geometric and topological concepts to analyze and interpret data. This method is particularly useful in fields like statistics, machine learning, and data science, where complex datasets can often be visualized or understood better through geometric perspectives. Key concepts and elements of geometric data analysis include: 1. **Geometric Structures**: Data can be represented in various geometric forms, such as points, curves, surfaces, or more complex shapes like manifolds.
Geometrical optics is a branch of optics that describes light propagation in terms of rays. It simplifies the behavior of light by assuming that it travels in straight lines and can be represented as rays. This approach is particularly useful for understanding how light interacts with various optical elements, such as lenses, mirrors, and prisms, where the wavelength of light is much smaller than the dimensions of the optical components.
Descriptive geometry is a branch of geometry that deals with the representation of three-dimensional objects in two-dimensional space. It provides techniques for accurately depicting the spatial relationships and dimensions of objects, allowing for the visualization and analysis of geometric shapes and structures. This field is particularly useful in engineering, architecture, and design, as it helps to create precise drawings and models. The principles of descriptive geometry were significantly developed by the French mathematician Gaspard Monge in the late 18th century.
Computer-Aided Design (CAD) refers to technology that utilizes computer systems and software to assist in the creation, modification, analysis, or optimization of a design. CAD is widely used across various fields, including architecture, engineering, product design, and manufacturing. Here are some key aspects of CAD: 1. **Software Applications**: CAD software can vary significantly in terms of capabilities and applications.
The anti-nuclear movement in the Philippines primarily emerged in response to the presence of U.S. military bases in the country and the potential establishment of nuclear facilities. The movement gained significant traction during the 1970s and 1980s, especially amidst growing concerns about the environmental and health impacts of nuclear energy and weapons, as well as the geopolitical implications of U.S. military presence in the region.
The anti-nuclear movement in Switzerland refers to the activism and public opposition against the use of nuclear energy and the construction of nuclear power plants in the country. This movement gained significant momentum in the late 20th century, particularly after notable nuclear accidents such as the Chernobyl disaster in 1986, which raised global concerns about the safety and environmental impact of nuclear energy.
The anti-nuclear movement in Spain emerged in the late 20th century as a response to the potential risks and environmental impacts associated with nuclear energy. This movement gained significant momentum in the 1970s and 1980s, particularly after a series of nuclear accidents around the world, such as the Three Mile Island incident in the United States in 1979 and the Chernobyl disaster in 1986.
The anti-nuclear movement in South Korea refers to a series of protests, advocacy efforts, and public campaigns aimed at opposing the use of nuclear energy and the construction of nuclear power plants in the country. This movement gained significant traction in the wake of global nuclear disasters, particularly the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster in Japan in 2011, which raised concerns about nuclear safety.
The anti-nuclear movement in Russia refers to a social and political movement that opposes the use and development of nuclear energy and weapons within the country. This movement has various aspects, including environmental concerns, safety issues, and opposition to nuclear weapons proliferation. ### Historical Context The anti-nuclear movement in Russia has roots that go back to the Soviet era, particularly in the wake of significant nuclear incidents such as the Chernobyl disaster in 1986.

Pinned article: Introduction to the OurBigBook Project

Welcome to the OurBigBook Project! Our goal is to create the perfect publishing platform for STEM subjects, and get university-level students to write the best free STEM tutorials ever.
Everyone is welcome to create an account and play with the site: ourbigbook.com/go/register. We belive that students themselves can write amazing tutorials, but teachers are welcome too. You can write about anything you want, it doesn't have to be STEM or even educational. Silly test content is very welcome and you won't be penalized in any way. Just keep it legal!
We have two killer features:
  1. topics: topics group articles by different users with the same title, e.g. here is the topic for the "Fundamental Theorem of Calculus" ourbigbook.com/go/topic/fundamental-theorem-of-calculus
Articles of different users are sorted by upvote within each article page. This feature is a bit like:
    • a Wikipedia where each user can have their own version of each article
    • a Q&A website like Stack Overflow, where multiple people can give their views on a given topic, and the best ones are sorted by upvote. Except you don't need to wait for someone to ask first, and any topic goes, no matter how narrow or broad
This feature makes it possible for readers to find better explanations of any topic created by other writers. And it allows writers to create an explanation in a place that readers might actually find it.

  2. local editing: you can store all your personal knowledge base content locally in a plaintext markup format that can be edited locally and published either:
This way you can be sure that even if OurBigBook.com were to go down one day (which we have no plans to do as it is quite cheap to host!), your content will still be perfectly readable as a static site.
