Alessandro Padoa is primarily known as an Italian mathematician, particularly recognized for his work in mathematical logic and related fields.
Aleksandr Kurosh, also known as Alexander Kurosh or Aleksandr Kurush, is best known for his contributions to mathematics, particularly in the field of topology and set theory. He was a Soviet mathematician and is noted for his work on various topics, including group theory and algebraic structures. Kurosh is well recognized for the "Kurosh theorem" and "Kurosh's lemma" in group theory.
Agata Smoktunowicz is a Polish politician and a member of the political party Law and Justice (PiS). She has served in the Polish Parliament (Sejm) and is known for her involvement in various legislative activities and political initiatives.
Abu Kamil, also known as Abu Kamil Shuja ibn Aslam, was a notable mathematician from the Abbasid period, specifically around the 9th to 10th centuries. He is often recognized as a significant figure in the development of algebra. His work built upon that of earlier mathematicians, including Al-Khwarizmi, and contributed to the transmission of mathematical knowledge from the Islamic world to Europe.
Abraham Adrian Albert was an American mathematician known for his contributions to abstract algebra, particularly in the areas of algebraic structures and ring theory. He is perhaps best known for his work on the theory of *algebras*, which has had a lasting impact on both pure and applied mathematics.
Linear algebraists are mathematicians or researchers who specialize in the field of linear algebra, a branch of mathematics concerned with vector spaces, linear mappings, and systems of linear equations. This area of study involves concepts such as vectors, matrices, determinants, eigenvalues, eigenvectors, and linear transformations. Linear algebraists may work on a variety of applications across different fields, including mathematics, engineering, computer science, physics, economics, and statistics.
Group theorists are mathematicians who specialize in the study of group theory, a branch of abstract algebra that focuses on the algebraic structures known as groups. A group is a set accompanied by an operation that combines any two elements to form a third element, satisfying certain axioms: closure, associativity, the existence of an identity element, and the existence of invertible elements.
Algebraic geometers are mathematicians who specialize in the field of algebraic geometry, a branch of mathematics that studies the properties and relationships of geometric objects defined by polynomial equations. Algebraic geometry combines techniques from abstract algebra, particularly commutative algebra, with geometric concepts. Algebraic geometry focuses on the solutions of systems of polynomial equations and examines the geometric structures (often called algebraic varieties) that arise from these solutions.

Pinned article: Introduction to the OurBigBook Project

Welcome to the OurBigBook Project! Our goal is to create the perfect publishing platform for STEM subjects, and get university-level students to write the best free STEM tutorials ever.
Everyone is welcome to create an account and play with the site: ourbigbook.com/go/register. We belive that students themselves can write amazing tutorials, but teachers are welcome too. You can write about anything you want, it doesn't have to be STEM or even educational. Silly test content is very welcome and you won't be penalized in any way. Just keep it legal!
We have two killer features:
  1. topics: topics group articles by different users with the same title, e.g. here is the topic for the "Fundamental Theorem of Calculus" ourbigbook.com/go/topic/fundamental-theorem-of-calculus
Articles of different users are sorted by upvote within each article page. This feature is a bit like:
    • a Wikipedia where each user can have their own version of each article
    • a Q&A website like Stack Overflow, where multiple people can give their views on a given topic, and the best ones are sorted by upvote. Except you don't need to wait for someone to ask first, and any topic goes, no matter how narrow or broad
This feature makes it possible for readers to find better explanations of any topic created by other writers. And it allows writers to create an explanation in a place that readers might actually find it.

  2. local editing: you can store all your personal knowledge base content locally in a plaintext markup format that can be edited locally and published either:
This way you can be sure that even if OurBigBook.com were to go down one day (which we have no plans to do as it is quite cheap to host!), your content will still be perfectly readable as a static site.
Figure 5. . You can also edit articles on the Web editor without installing anything locally.
