Frederick P. Cowan could refer to a specific individual known in a certain field, but without additional context, it's difficult to provide specific information. There are multiple people with that name, and it could pertain to various professions or disciplines. If you have more details or context about who Frederick P. Cowan is or what area you're interested in (e.g., literature, science, history, etc.
Francis Rudolph Shonka does not appear to be a widely recognized figure based on the information available up to October 2023. It's possible that he might be a private individual or a lesser-known person in a specific field.
Francis J. Bradley may refer to a specific individual, but without further context, it is difficult to determine exactly who you are asking about, as there may be multiple people with that name. In various contexts, it could refer to a historical figure, a contemporary professional in a particular field, or someone notable in literature or academia. If you have a specific context, such as a profession (e.g.
Edgar Charles Barnes is not a widely recognized figure in popular culture, literature, or history, based on my training data up to October 2023. It is possible that he could be a private individual or a lesser-known person.
E. Gail de Planque is known as an American mathematician, specifically recognized for her contributions to the field of mathematics education. She has been involved in various educational initiatives, particularly focusing on improving the teaching and learning of mathematics.
Dade Moeller is a consulting firm that specializes in providing services related to radiation safety, environmental health, and nuclear energy. Founded in the late 1990s, the company is known for its expertise in radiological assessment, radiation protection, and environmental management. Their services typically include training, technical support, and regulatory compliance assistance for industries such as nuclear power, medical facilities, and government agencies. In 2017, Dade Moeller was acquired by the firm NV5 Global, Inc.
A Certified Health Physicist (CHP) is a professional who has been certified by the American Board of Health Physics (ABHP) in the field of health physics, which is the science that focuses on radiation protection and safety. Health physicists are responsible for ensuring the safe use of sources of radiation, whether in medical settings (like hospitals), research institutions, nuclear power plants, or various industrial applications.
C. Maurice Patterson may refer to a specific individual, but without additional context, it's difficult to provide detailed information. If you are asking about a person, they might not be widely recognized in public domains or the name might refer to a niche area of expertise, profession, or historical figure. If you could provide more context or specify what you're looking for (e.g.
The American Academy of Health Physics (AAHP) is a professional organization dedicated to advancing the field of health physics, which is the science concerned with the protection of people and the environment from potential hazards associated with ionizing radiation. Established in 1978, the AAHP promotes knowledge, skills, and professionalism in radiation safety through certification, education, and advocacy.
Kuo Shou Ching is a lunar impact crater located on the Moon's far side. It is named after Kuo Shoujing, a Chinese astronomer and hydrologist from the Yuan Dynasty who lived in the 13th century. Like many craters on the Moon, Kuo Shou Ching is characterized by its circular shape, a rugged and pockmarked surface, and a surrounding ring of raised terrain. It is relatively large and has a well-defined inner wall.
2012 Guo Shou-Jing is a commemorative coin issued by China to celebrate the 700th anniversary of the death of Guo Shou-Jing, a prominent Chinese astronomer, engineer, and hydraulic engineer during the Yuan Dynasty. Guo Shou-Jing is best known for his work in astronomy, especially for creating the "Shoushi Calendar," which improved the accuracy of the Chinese lunar calendar. He also made significant contributions to water conservancy projects and agricultural irrigation systems.
Wyckoff positions refer to a specific method of categorizing the arrangement of atoms in a crystal lattice, specifically within the field of crystallography. The concept is named after the American physicist and crystallographer Walter Bradford Wyckoff, who developed a systematic way to describe crystal structures. In the context of crystallography, Wyckoff positions describe the symmetry and positioning of atoms in a crystal symmetric group.
The Whitehead problem is a classic question in the field of algebraic topology, specifically in the area of group theory relating to homotopy theory. Formulated by the mathematician J.H.C. Whitehead in the 1940s, the problem asks whether a certain type of homomorphism between two groups can be lifted to a homotopy equivalence.
The Von Neumann paradox, also known as the "Von Neumann architecture paradox," is a concept in the field of game theory and economics, particularly in the context of decision-making and self-referential systems. However, there is another related concept often referred to as the "paradox of choice" in decision-making processes.
"Virtually" can refer to a few different concepts depending on the context: 1. **Adverbial Meaning**: In general usage, "virtually" means "almost" or "nearly," suggesting that something is true in effect but not in an absolute sense. For example, if someone says "I virtually finished the project," it implies that they are very close to finishing, but not quite there yet.
In group theory, "transfer" typically refers to a specific concept related to the behavior of groups under certain conditions, particularly in the context of transfer homomorphisms or transfer maps which can arise in the study of group cohomology and modular representations. However, in a more specific context, "transfer" often relates to the idea of transferring properties or structures from one group to another.
In mathematics and set theory, a symmetric set is often defined in the context of a set of elements where certain symmetrical properties are present. 1. **General Symmetry**: A set \( S \) could be considered symmetric if for every element \( a \) in \( S \), there exists a corresponding element that reflects a specific symmetry property. This could be under operations such as reflection across a line, rotation in a plane, or an inversion in some metric space.

Pinned article: Introduction to the OurBigBook Project

Welcome to the OurBigBook Project! Our goal is to create the perfect publishing platform for STEM subjects, and get university-level students to write the best free STEM tutorials ever.
Everyone is welcome to create an account and play with the site: ourbigbook.com/go/register. We belive that students themselves can write amazing tutorials, but teachers are welcome too. You can write about anything you want, it doesn't have to be STEM or even educational. Silly test content is very welcome and you won't be penalized in any way. Just keep it legal!
We have two killer features:
  1. topics: topics group articles by different users with the same title, e.g. here is the topic for the "Fundamental Theorem of Calculus" ourbigbook.com/go/topic/fundamental-theorem-of-calculus
Articles of different users are sorted by upvote within each article page. This feature is a bit like:
    • a Wikipedia where each user can have their own version of each article
    • a Q&A website like Stack Overflow, where multiple people can give their views on a given topic, and the best ones are sorted by upvote. Except you don't need to wait for someone to ask first, and any topic goes, no matter how narrow or broad
This feature makes it possible for readers to find better explanations of any topic created by other writers. And it allows writers to create an explanation in a place that readers might actually find it.

  2. local editing: you can store all your personal knowledge base content locally in a plaintext markup format that can be edited locally and published either:
This way you can be sure that even if OurBigBook.com were to go down one day (which we have no plans to do as it is quite cheap to host!), your content will still be perfectly readable as a static site.
