 Alpha-Omega dynamo

An alpha-Omega mean-field dynamo couples toroidal-field generation by the Omega effect to poloidal-field regeneration by the alpha effect. A simple Fourier model is $\dot{A}={\alpha }_{0}f(t)B-\eta k^{2}A$, $\dot{B}=ik\Omega A-\eta k^{2}B$, where $A$ is a component of the vector potential for the poloidal field and $B$ is a toroidal-field amplitude. For bounded $|f|\le 1$, the bounded-modulation alpha-Omega growth estimate controls the maximum amplification.
