 Angular speed

Angular speed is the nonnegative magnitude of angular velocity: $\omega =|\mathbf{\omega }|$. It measures the rate of rotation about an instantaneous axis without specifying its direction. For uniform circular motion of radius $R$, the ordinary speed is $v=R\omega$.
