Annelisa B. Esparza coauthored the generalized gas-discharge study, with investigation and data curation among the published contributions.[ref] An Embry-Riddle research account also identifies her participation in planetary electrical-discharge research.[ref]
A controlled test of a breakdown model would specify the gas, pressure, electrode shape and separation, then measure the electric potential difference at discharge onset. Altering electrode curvature while holding the gap width fixed isolates a geometric change that a planar approximation suppresses. Surface condition and the criterion used to identify onset must also be recorded. Consistent measurement definitions make datasets from different apparatus comparable.
