 Automorphism of a polynomial ring

An automorphism of a polynomial ring is an invertible ring homomorphism from the ring to itself. For example, $f(X)\mapsto f(X+a)$ has inverse $f(X)\mapsto f(X-a)$, so translating the variable preserves reducibility.
