 Complex cylinder

A complex cylinder is a quotient $\mathbb{C}/\mathbb{Z}\tau$ by one nonzero complex translation. Unlike a compact complex torus, it is biholomorphic to ${\mathbb{C}}^{\ast }$ through a suitable exponential map.
