Differentiating and using $a^{\prime }=a\mathcal{H}$ eliminates the matter term and yields a first-order Riccati equation. The expanding Big-Bang branch for $0<{\Omega }_m<1$ has $\mathcal{H}=\alpha \coth (\alpha \tau /2)$.
