Functional complementation

ID: functional-complementation

Functional complementation is restoration of a specified function or phenotype by introducing a gene into a deficient recipient. In the yeast cross-species complementation experiment, the restored property is growth without supplied methionine, under the assay conditions. Rescue need not restore every property of the original genotype.
