 Hydrogen-bond catalysis

Hydrogen-bond catalysis preferentially stabilizes a reactive configuration through hydrogen bonds. A hydrogen bond to an intermediate or bound substrate is evidence of an interaction, but its catalytic contribution depends on differential stabilization relative to the starting state.
