The in-vacuum annihilation condition therefore has coefficient $v=-\beta$ when written as $(u{a}_{\mathrm{out}}+v{b}_{\mathrm{out}}^{†})|0_{\mathrm{in}}⟩=0$. Forward and inverse maps must not be confused.
