 Phosphite ligand

A phosphite ligand such as $\mathrm{P}(\mathrm{OR}{)}_3$ binds through a phosphorus lone pair and can accept pi backbonding. Its donation and acceptance differ from those of both phosphine ligands and carbonyl ligands.
