 Physiological effector

A physiological effector performs the action that changes the regulated physiological variable. In thermoregulation, sweat glands, changes in skin blood flow, and skeletal muscle shivering contribute different actions. The command, the action and the resulting temperature are three distinct readouts. ^[ref]
