 Place of a number field

A place of a number field $K$ is an equivalence class of absolute values on a field. Its Archimedean places come from real embeddings and conjugate pairs of complex embeddings. Its non-Archimedean places correspond to nonzero prime ideals of the ring of integers of a number field.
