 Stellar gravity mode

A stellar gravity mode is a nonradial stellar oscillation restored by buoyancy in stable stratification. In the local interior approximation it propagates where ${\omega }^2<N^2,S_{\ell }^2$. Such modes are distinct from stellar acoustic modes and do not have a radial $\ell =0$ gravity-wave branch.
