Abelian anyon

On particle exchange:

ψ = e^{θ i} ψ

so it is a generalization of bosons and fermions which have

θ = 0

and

θ = π

respectively.

Key physical experiment: fractional quantum Hall effect.

Non Abelian anyon

Exotic and hard to find experimentally.
