A reduced root system of rank one is Φ={α,−α}. Its fundamental weight is α/2, and its Weyl group has two elements. Its ordinary Dynkin diagram has one node; adjoining α0=−α gives affine Cartan matrix (2−2−22), drawn as a double bond between equal-length roots.
