The primary survey compares interstellar sodium absorption with galaxy systemic velocities in infrared-bright starbursts. Blueshifts and a viewing-angle dependence support a minor-axis outflow interpretation. Saturation, ionization and geometry limit conversion of the absorption into total mass-loss rates.
