In an unstratified Keplerian shearing sheet with sound speed c, the four linear velocity-density equations yield ω4−(Ω2+c2k2)ω2+Ω2c2kz2=0. The lower-frequency branch approaches the inertial wave relation ω2=Ω2kz2/k2 for ck≫Ω; the upper branch is predominantly acoustic.
