With the convention m∗γ=γ∗n and invertible bialgebra scalar cocycle γ for n, the same coalgebra has n=γˉ∗m∗γ, or equivalently m=γ∗n∗γˉ. Thus n(a,b)=∑γˉ(a(1),b(1))m(a(2),b(2))γ(a(3),b(3)). Specifying the equation prevents opposite twist conventions from being conflated.
