Change of basepoint isomorphism (u#)

Let u be a path from x0 to x1. Traversing paths from left to right gives an isomorphism
u#:π1(X,x0)⟶π1(X,x1),[α]⟼[uˉ∗α∗u].
(1)
Concatenation and cancellation of a path with its reverse prove the homomorphism property and show that uˉ supplies its inverse. A different connecting path changes this isomorphism by an inner automorphism, so it need not be canonical.
