For a uniform ohmic material under harmonic forcing, the magnitudes obey ∣Jcond∣/∣Jdisp∣=σ/(ωϵ). A large ratio supports a local conduction-dominated approximation; it does not remove the displacement term from Maxwell's exact continuity relation.
