A constant-proportion portfolio holds a fixed fraction γ of its portfolio wealth in the stock. In the Black-Scholes model with bank rate ρ, initial wealth V0, and no consumption, its value is
Vt=V0(St/S0)γexp((1−γ)(ρ+21γσ2)t).
(1)
The stock holding is γVt/St and the remaining value (1−γ)Vt is invested in the bank account. The Itô formula verifies dVt/Vt=[ρ+γ(μ−ρ)]dt+γσdWt when the physical stock drift is μ.
