Neglect metric fluctuations and derivatives of ϕˉ˙/H, so δX1=−2Xˉζ˙/H and δX2=Xˉ[ζ˙2−a−2(∇ζ)2]/H2. The coefficient of ζ˙3 in the cosmic-time action is C=−a3[2Xˉ2P,XX+(4/3)Xˉ3P,XXX]/H3. This unfactored form is valid even when P,XX=0 and a factored ratio would be undefined.
