Exact diagonalization within a degenerate subspace
For oscillators of frequencies 1 and 2, the perturbation
H′=A†2B+A2B†
(1)
preserves NA+2NB. On the energy-9/2 basis ∣3,0⟩,∣1,1⟩, it is the matrix
(0660),
(2)
so the symmetric and antisymmetric combinations are exact eigenstates with shifts ±6λ.
