For X=μ+σZ with Z having the standard normal distribution and an increasing concave utility function U, define f(μ,σ)=E[U(X)]. Then fμ=E[U′(X)]>0 and Gaussian integration by parts gives fσ=σE[U′′(X)]≤0. Moreover
Hessf=E[U′′(X)(1ZZZ2)]

is negative semidefinite, so f is jointly concave in μ and σ.
