With Fourier transform convention f(k)=∫f(x)e−ikxdx, differentiation under the integral gives ∂knf=∫(−ix)nf(x)e−ikxdx, proving the displayed identity. For example it applies when all xjf(x) for 0≤j≤n are absolutely integrable, or in the tempered distribution sense. It is the dual counterpart of the Fourier transform of a derivative.
