The distributional derivative of log∣x∣ is the principal-value reciprocal distribution. Its transform is −iπsgnk. Dividing the derivative-transform relation by ik gives the displayed finite-part inverse-absolute-value distribution, with an undetermined delta term fixed by the finite-part convention.
