For a forced harmonic oscillator with constant viscous damping coefficient mγ>0, the average power divided by its maximum is γ2ω2/[(ω02−ω2)2+γ2ω2]. It peaks at ω0=k/m. Its two positive half-power angular frequencies are ω1,2=(4ω02+γ2∓γ)/2. Hence their separation is exactly γ, and their product is ω02. The narrow-resonance approximation ω1,2≃ω0∓γ/2 is needed for symmetry about the peak, not for the exact bandwidth in angular-frequency units.
