Geometric genus of an algebraic surface
If π:X→X is the blowup of a smooth surface at a point, then KX​=π∗KX​+E and π∗​KX​=KX​. Pullback therefore identifies the global holomorphic two-forms and gives pg​(X)=pg​(X).
