Positive mobility coefficients mr​(x) give dU/dt=∑r​mr​(x)(∂r​U)2≥0. With mr​=κr​xr​, the substitution zr​=2xr​/κr​​ turns the equation into ordinary gradient ascent for the transformed potential on positive coordinates.
