Associate (u,v,x,y) with X=(u+xy−vy+vu−x). The ambient quadratic form is −detX; hence the radius-ℓ anti-de Sitter quadric is X=ℓg with g∈SL(2,R). The action X↦AXB−1 gives SO0(2,2)≅(SL(2,R)×SL(2,R))/{(I,I),(−I,−I)}. Its induced bi-invariant pseudo-Riemannian metric is g=ℓ2K/8, giving Ric=−2g/ℓ2 and cosmological constant −1/ℓ2. The antipodal quotient is PSL(2,R); unwrapping global time gives the universal covering group instead. The connected component is essential in the displayed orthogonal-group isomorphism.
