For rigid spin-degenerate channel transmissions and μS,D=EF±eV/2, differentiating I=(2e/h)∑n∫μDμSTn(E)dE gives Gd=(e2/h)∑n[Tn(μS)+Tn(μD)]. If the two edges sample neighboring integer channel counts, Gd is a half-integer multiple of 2e2/h. Explicit bias dependence of the potential adds terms; the apparent fraction does not imply fractional carriers.
