Ideal-theoretic decomposition law

For an unramified prime $\mathfrak{p}$ in a finite abelian extension $L/K$, the residue degree equals the order of its Artin symbol. Consequently the number of primes above $\mathfrak{p}$ is $[L:K]$ divided by that order.
