Simple Thresholding specifies strict greater-than for THRESH_BINARY; equality produces zero. Adaptive Thresholding describes local-neighborhood mean/Gaussian thresholds minus C. Only this scoped article uses the API convention; carried Binary image deliberately uses a different explicit >= rule.
OpenCV4.13.0, ThresholdTypes: THRESH_BINARY and THRESH_BINARY_INV formulas, including equality at the threshold.
