For P cyclic of order q=pn in characteristic p, its group algebra is k[t]/(tq). The nilpotent Jordan normal form classifies its indecomposable finite-dimensional modules as Vi, 1≤i≤q. A module homomorphism Vi→Vj is determined by an element annihilated by ti, so its dimension is min(i,j).
