With Dμ=∂μ+ρ(Aμ) and Φ↦R(U)Φ, a local U=1+ϵ gives δAμ=−∂μϵ+[ϵ,Aμ], δΦ=ρ(ϵ)Φ and δFμν=[ϵ,Fμν]. Derivative terms cancel in δ(DμΦ)=ρ(ϵ)DμΦ. Here the gauge coupling is absorbed into the connection.
