For Hω=(∣v∣2+ω2∣x∣2)/2, the displayed linear Hamiltonian flow solves X˙=V, V˙=−ω2X. Its inverse is S−t, its determinant is one and it preserves Hω. The zero-frequency limit is the shear (x,v)↦(x+tv,v).
