Let γ be the tautological line bundle and put t=1−[γ]. The Euler sequence on complex projective space gives
TCPn⊕C≅(n+1)γ.
(1)
Hence
λs(TCPn)=1+s(1+sγ)n+1,
(2)
and evaluating at s=−1 in K0(CPn)=Z[t]/(tn+1) gives
eK(TCPn)=(n+1)[γ](1−[γ])n=(n+1)tn.
