Arabic text, French translation and mathematical commentary by <Erwan Penchèvre>. The introduction distinguishes the surviving exposition from the lost observational work and describes manuscript witnesses. The mathematical commentary gives modern reconstructions rather than attributing all of its proof notation to the original author.
